Hermon Rec 2020 Summer Camp

This summer, we will be hosting camp at Patricia A. Duran Elementary. Our program will still serve grades K-6th; however due to location limitations this year we will be able to host a much smaller capacity.

SPECIAL EVENTS

ALSO, all campers will be supplied with their own:
Sunscreen (SPF 50, Water Resistant Sport Spray)
Individual Arts & Crafts Supplies with Pencil Case including:
                           - Scissors
                           - Glue Sticks
                           - Colored Pencils
                           - Markers
                           - Pencil Sharpener
                           - Pencils

New & Updated Policies:

Program hours are 9:00AM - 3:00PM
Drop off is between 8:30AM-9:00AM and pick up will be 3:00PM-3:30PM.

Car-side drop-off/pick-up will allow campers to have their temperature checked before safely entering the building and program. Parents will be asked to remain in their cars and pulling into a marked space in the parking lot.  The same process will apply during pick-up times, with the exception that we are asking parents/guardians to call or text upon their arrival so their child can be escorted by staff.

Special Events will be held every week in lieu of field trips. These will be held in outdoor areas to bring new and exciting groups, shows or activities to our Summer Camp participants.

Family Letter
Planning the traditional summer rec program has been difficult, and at times felt nearly impossible to imagine operating a summer program at all this year. Many of you have questions regarding Summer Rec and we appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to provide you with answers! We’d like to address the most common question “Will there be a rec program this year?” YES, there will be a program offered this summer, but it will be different from what we expected it to be!

Despite the challenges we’ve been faced with this season, we are committed to provide your children with opportunities to socialize and play with their friends in a safe environment this summer. We are actively revamping our original summer plans and making the appropriate modifications to operate responsibly and still provide a positive experience for campers and staff members.

We have been closely following the CDC, State and Local recommendations as well as the American Camp Association guidelines to make adjustments to the program and update our existing safety protocols. It is important to us that you are kept informed of changes that may impact your decision when making plans for your children this year. A full list of safety protocols, registration and lottery drawing instructions will be shared later this week as they become finalized. Safety remains our first priority and it is important to us that we can keep everyone as healthy as possible when participating in the programs we provide to our community without sacrificing the FUN program we know and love!

Thanks, Hermon Recreation
